Anthem of the House of Groznov

Listen to the anthem

I.

Not upon sand — upon the stone we lay our word,

not in the wind — upon the root we hold our home.

The blood remembers us. The earth remembers. Heard

through every age, we speak the truth we will not disown.

Not for the marketplace we forge this steady flame,

not for the auction is our quiet fire arrayed.

We build what stands against the cold, against the name

of passing years, against the heavy hand unmade.

Chorus

The House of Groznov — not a fortress, not parade.

The House of Groznov — where remembrance is not frayed.

Within us — fathers. Grandsires. Behind us — Kin.

We are the ones through whom it journeys on, within.

We think in centuries. We act in this same hour.

Tomorrow — better. Light is growing through our power.

II.

The world has learned to make in haste, in passing breath —

we learned to make for ages, for the long unknown.

With us, the name is known. With us, no ember dies of death.

Within our palm — the memory of hands long flown.

We do not hurry — yet we have not fallen still.

We do not shout — yet every step is heard and read.

Three hundred generations stand upon our will,

and every grandsire keeps his watch within our tread.

Chorus (same)

III. — Final, with ascent

The hearths burn on. The stones still stand. And this we know:

we are not last. We are the links within the chain.

And though the road may break beneath us as we go —

the House is at our back. Together. On we strain.

The House of Groznov — not a fortress, not parade.

The House of Groznov — where remembrance is not frayed.

The blood remembers. Earth remembers. Light — holds true.

The Kin grows on — and every son gives thanks anew.
